This website is operated by Aaron Platt. I offer therapy in English for individuals and couples worldwide. Sessions are conducted online via secure video.
What information I collect
When you use this website or work with me, I may collect the following information:
Information you provide directly: your name, email address, and any details you include when you contact me through the website form, email, or during sessions.
Technical information collected automatically: when you visit this website, standard technical data may be collected, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring URL. This is collected through cookies and basic analytics tools to understand how the site is used.
How I use your information
I use your information to respond to inquiries and schedule sessions, to provide therapy services, and to improve this website. I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Where European data protection law applies, the legal bases are straightforward: I process your contact details and session information because that is necessary to provide the service you are asking for, I process analytics and advertising data only with your consent, and I keep basic records where I have a legitimate interest in running the practice, such as invoicing and security.
Third-party services
This site and practice rely on a small number of service providers, each with its own privacy policy. The website is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs. The contact form is processed by Web3Forms, which delivers your message to my email. Traffic measurement uses Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization, and advertising measurement uses Google Ads conversion tracking; if you contact me after clicking an ad, the email address you submit may be shared with Google in hashed form to confirm the conversion. Consent for these tools is managed by iubenda. Sessions themselves take place on a secure video platform, and payment goes through a standard payment processor.
Several of these providers are based in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the providers' safeguards, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. I do not sell your data, and none of these services receives the content of our sessions.
Cookies
Analytics and advertising cookies are off by default. If you are in a region where consent is required, nothing is set until you accept through the cookie banner, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the banner's privacy settings. Declining does not affect your ability to use the site or to contact me. You can also block cookies entirely in your browser settings.
Data retention & deletion
I retain contact form submissions and session-related information only as long as necessary for our professional relationship. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing me at aaron@therapy-in-english.com.
Your Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Security
I take reasonable measures to protect your information, including using encrypted video platforms and secure communication channels. However, no method of electronic transmission is completely secure.
