Therapy in English

FAQ

If you’re scanning, start with the first three questions. They cover most of what people want to know before booking.

Why is pricing in USD?

USD simplifies invoicing across 30+ countries. You can pay in any major currency, euros, pounds, Singapore dollars, dirhams, and so on. The USD figure is just the reference rate. Your bank or payment app converts at the current rate.

How long before I hear back?

I respond personally within a few hours on weekdays. Not a form letter, an actual reply from me with a proposed time to meet.

How do I know if this is a good fit?

If you’re tired of advice and want understanding (not just coping) this is likely a fit. The best way to find out is to try a session. Before your first session, we have a brief 15-minute call to see if this feels like the right fit for you.

Is the first session a consultation or a real session?

Before the first session, we have a brief 15-minute call to see if this feels like the right fit for you. If we both think it makes sense, we schedule the first paid session.

Do you work with expats specifically?

Yes. Many clients are living abroad or in cross-cultural relationships. Expat life has its own psychological pressure: identity shifts, isolation, social reset, invisible grief, and a lot of shame about struggling ‘despite being lucky.’

How often do we meet?

Most people meet weekly or every other week. We choose a consistent time and adjust when life forces it.

Do you diagnose or provide psychiatric care?

No. My work is talk therapy focused on insight, patterns, and relationships. I don’t provide psychiatric care, medication management, emergency services, or crisis intervention. If you are in crisis, see the crisis page.

Do you take insurance?

Payment is out-of-pocket. I can provide receipts for your records, but I don’t bill insurance directly.

Where are you located?

I work remotely via video, which allows me to work with clients internationally. If jurisdiction matters for your specific situation, bring it up and we’ll discuss it directly.

What if I don’t know what I want to talk about?

That’s normal. You don’t need a polished narrative. We can start with what feels stuck, confusing, or emotionally loud, and let the shape emerge over time.

What if I’m not in crisis, just not myself?

Many people come exactly for that: functioning on the outside while feeling flat, irritable, anxious, or unreal inside. Therapy can be about reclaiming aliveness, not just managing symptoms.

Do you give advice or tell me what to do?

Sometimes practical suggestions are useful, but my default is different: we slow down and understand the pattern you’re inside. Good decisions tend to follow clearer self-understanding.

What if I talk a lot but don’t change?

A real therapy process isn’t about talking. It’s about seeing what your mind avoids, repeats, or can’t tolerate. The goal is not insight as trivia. It’s insight that changes how you live and relate.

What if my partner and I remember things differently?

That’s expected. Couples therapy isn’t a trial. We focus on the pattern between you, the meanings each of you makes, and how you repair. Not on establishing a single objective story.

How does therapy work across time zones?

We choose a standing time that’s workable in both locations, and adjust when travel or schedules shift. I work with clients across multiple continents.

Is this therapy or coaching?

The work is therapy-like in depth and method: relational, insight-oriented, and focused on patterns and emotional life. I’m not a quick-fix performance coach, and I’m also careful about how the work is described across different jurisdictions.

What happens after the first session?

At the end of the first meeting, we’ll decide whether it makes sense to continue. If you decide not to continue, you don’t pay for that first session.

What Clients Say

“I came in thinking I knew what my issues were. I’d been over them a hundred times. But those were just the things I could already see. Aaron helped me notice what I couldn’t, and that’s where everything actually started to change.”

“I didn’t think online therapy could really work. How do you feel a connection through a screen? But I’ve done in-person therapy before, and honestly, I’ve felt more understood by Aaron than by any therapist I’ve sat across from. He listens in a way that’s hard to describe until you experience it.”

“A few years ago I suddenly developed prolonged panic attacks but couldn’t begin to understand what had caused them. Having been in therapy in the past, and being a counseling intern student, I felt I had exhausted my resources trying to figure out “What is wrong with me?” I can honestly say Aaron provides a form of counseling that is difficult to find anywhere else regarding efficacy. Not only has his approach been effective, but he also has provided me a safe space to explore aspects about myself I may not otherwise have felt able to. I cannot recommend him enough as he has helped me feel more myself than ever before.”

“I’d been in and out of therapy for years. Different therapists, different approaches, none of it really stuck. Aaron helped me understand more in a few months than all of them combined. And he talked to me like a normal person, not like all this weird therapy-speak.”
